Mayoral candidate rallies supporters

A candidate for mayor used the microphone on Thursday evening to give a fiery speech saying he believes the stakes are too high in the Oct. 8 election for potential voters not to cast their ballots.

“So many people feel as though their vote will not count, but the reality is now is the time to make that vote count here in Rocky Mount, North Carolina,” Bronson Williams said at a rally at the Booker T. Theater.

Williams provides additional comments on Robbery

Business ownership is one of the hallmarks of American society. From my days as a budding entrepreneur to now, I have always established legal businesses. Whether daycares, radio stations, a newspaper, television station, arcades, and other ventures, no one can ever say that I have ever operated outside the law.

On Friday, July 12, 2019, my business at 1151 N Wesleyan Blvd in Rocky Mount was robbed and, in the process, I was assaulted. However, this unfortunate incident has not and will not deter me from doing business in the city I love; Rocky Mount. The quick response and ultra-professionalism of our outstanding police department show me that Rocky Mount officers are well-trained and rival departments in larger municipalities.

I thank all of you for your concerns, calls, texts and prayers. I also thank you for your out-pouring support for our Mayoral bid. Onward! Forward! Now is the time!
